A carpet is like a perfect human body, the appearance alone, represents the real natural beauty, the soul has to support the appearance. Normally it is made of three components and is produced using a variety of techniques and materials in all sizes. Carpets are either made from wool, or man-made fibers such as nylon or polypropylene and they are a wonderful way to add style to any room in your home.
Persian
The Persian carpet is an essential part of Persian (Iranian) art and culture. Persians use a single knot to form their carpets while Turkish Carpets are always double knotted adding strength to the beauty of these carpets. There are several styles of knotting, but the two main types of knot are the symmetrical (also called Turkish or Ghiordes) and asymmetrical (also called Persian or Senna). Persian carpets comprise three main elements known as the Warp, the Pile, and the Weft. Persian carpets are at the top of the price scale and many are so exquisite that putting them on the floor is practically unthinkable.
Turkish
Turkish people have so many different traditions related to carpets, which have continued through the centuries. Turkish carpets carry a wide range of symbols and the carpet in the beginning it served a practical as well as decorative purpose. Turkish carpets are made of silk, wool or cotton. They are highly unique in the world due to the fact a double knot is used. Turkish silk carpets actually have the highest amount of knots per square centimeter. A carpet is considered to be an antique in Turkey once it is one hundred years old.
India
Carpets of Indo-Persian design were introduced to Europe via the Dutch, British, and French East India Companies of the 17th and 18th century. The Indian woolen carpets are inspired by the classical Persian Tradition of motifs to the most modern design. Hand knotted woolen Carpets from India speak eloquently of the superb workmanship as they are renowned the world over for their exquisite designs, subtle elegance and attractive colors. Indian carpets are distinguished by the paneled back or pronounced ribs running down the back of the carpet whereas modern carpets have a smooth back and the quality is not up to the mark. Carpets are an economically important but miniscule part of the floor covering popularly used in India.
Carpets of a high quality are soft and resilient and provide a safe, non-slip surface for children and the elderly. Carpets are therefore ideal for use in bathrooms or any other room where you feel that it may fit in.
