To observe Steve McQueen's 75th birthday (the actor was the excellent example of a new kind of movie star which appeared in the 1950s and would dominate the movie industry in the 1960s and '70s), TAG Heuer is introducing the Monaco Vintage Limited Edition, a new version of a chronograph world-famous for its large, square case, beauty, precision, and high readability.

This year, for ambitious drivers, the choice is obvious: the TAG Heuer Monaco Vintage chronograph. This new superb version is delightfully modern having experienced a striking renewal. The new version features a white face with the famous red, white, and blue stripes of the driving suit the actor wore in the excellent classic Le Mans movie of 1970.

For his Porsche 917 Gulf driving scenes in Le Mans, Steve McQueen insisted that the properties department give him the whole driving suit of Jo Siffert, which, naturally, included the Monaco chronograph. Jo Siffert, who was a well-known Swiss driver and a winner of the 24-hour rally at Le Mans, was the first of many representatives officially sponsored by TAG Heuer, and always proudly wore the company's logos and watches.

Of course, Steve's wearing of the Monaco on his wrist helped to contribute to its popularity. But it was not the only reason; its ultramodern style and its complete deviation from tradition also allowed it to become one of TAG Heuer’s most popular works of art.

The history of watch making was reshaped by the square case of TAG Heuer Monaco. Introduced in 1969, it was the first chronograph fitted with a micro-rotor for automatic rewinding – the revolutionary Chronomatic Caliber 11. With the boldness of its large, blue, square case, it marked a new era in watch-making design esthetics.

This automatic chronograph pays tribute to a legendary actor and reminds us of a revolutionary period in recent watch-making history. Inspired by the cinema legend and spirit of car racing, the Limited Edition Monaco Vintage (4,000 pieces), with its tricolor face, Monaco logo at the 6 o'clock position, blue alligator band with beige stitches, and button buckle is fated to become another classic creation in TAG Heuer’s collection of sports watches.

Genuine Tag Heuer watches cost a zillion of cash but there is a great alternative of buying replica Tag Heuer watches which cost much less. Affordable replica watches are all but indistinguishable from their real counterparts. They feature the same looks, weight, and feel. So you will look prestigious and chic while wearing premium Japanese replica Tag Heuer watches.
