On September 11,2007 two of Hip-Hop's heavyweights go head-to-head for the number one spot! Who will reign supreme?
Well if I have anything to do about it, it will be none other than the self-proclaimed "Louis Vuitton Don" Kanye West! Unless you have been living under a rock or not a fan of hip-hop music than you know that on September 11,2007 two of rap's biggest names will be releasing their much anticipated 3rd albums on the same day. Despite taunts, by 50 cent, Jay Z, Def Jam, and Kanye West have not pushed back Kanye's release date. What could have been a great day for hip-hop music fans, has been overshadowed by fiddy's
childish demeanor.
50 cent stated, "If Kanye West sells more records than 50 cent on Sept. 11, I'll no longer write music. I'll write music and work with my other artists, but I won't put out anymore solo albums."
At first I didn't think much of the whole ordeal until as usual 50 cent in my opinion, felt threatened (or maybe it was just said as a ploy in order to generate a buzz for more album sales, more on that later) that he would have a challenge on his hands made the statement that he would retire if Kanye outsold him. I said this is typical 50 and I thought back to how this happened with Ja Rule Back in the day. I laughed at first but when FOX5 yes a MAJOR TV station here in Washington DC did a whole story on the matter I got heated. After I watched it, I knew I had had enough with 50 cent, and said let me help him swallow and choke on his on words - which is why I made my website and petition for 50 cent to retire. I had no intentions on buying either cd until I heard some more tracks, but now I feel it is my duty to go out and by Kanye's cd. I don't know about you but I am so tired of 50 cent and his insecurities calling out every single rapper in the game. To me 50 can't handle not being number 1 and in order to create a buzz he has to constantly create beefs with other artists in order to make himself feel good or relevant.
His "it's only about me" attitude can be seen in the G-unit. Everyone he surrounds himself with is less successful than him and have to be 50's yes men and flunkies. When someone is on the road to getting more accolades than 50 he can't handle it. Just look at how he dealt with Game and Young Buck. His current G-unit "soldiers" can't sell records and they need 50 to survive so that is why they stay around him.
Ok back to the purpose of my site, I am begging everyone to go out and buy Kanye's album on September 11th. Now it is very important that you buy the cd on the 11th because if you don't and wait another day, I feel 50 will use that as a loophole and say well the first day was the only day I was referring to, I didn't mean the entire 1st week sales.
It looks like Kanye may out sell 50 if the results from a recent poll from SOHH is accurate. The SOHH poll, which included feedback from over 3,000 fans on the internet between the ages of 12 and 35, when asked whose album will have the higher first-week sales, 51 said Fifty, while 11 said Kanye's album is on their shopping lists while only 20 pay for fame..."
In other 50 news, just the other day 50 claimed he didn't like like Jay-Z and Diddy. "Nah. I don't even like them." When told that his words could be misconstrued without clarification, 50 responded, "I don't give a @#*$."
"It doesn't matter," 50 continued. "They're not the same kind of people [that I am]. In business, I respect what they do, [but] if we liked each other, we'd call each other to talk for no reason." hmm so if he doesn't like them why was up on stage PERFORMING WITH them in NYC at the Scream tour? 50 just talks to get attention.
Oh HELL to the NO (ha thanks Whitney Houston for that)! I think I smell a recant coming on from 50 b/c also that night 50 hit the stage with Kanye!! I also hear that 50 and Kanye just finished shooting the cover of Rolling Stones in anticipation of their upcoming releases.
Now mark my words if Kanye outsells 50 on September 11th, 50 won't retire. They will be on 106 and Park on the 11th to discuss their albums. What's to discuss? But oh well they need the ratings. I bet 50 will say it was all hype about him retiring and proclaim himself the King of New York and call the whole situation a marketing ploy or something he did to stir up low album
sales for hip hop in general, blah blah, blah. I don't care!! Please help me tell 50 cent to shut up and sign my petition for 50 cent to retire!!
I bet this whole thing is a marketing gimmick, we will see where Curtis and Graduation are displayed at the store. They shouldn't be anywhere near each other because they are on different labels, but we will see. I feel the whole hip-hop community has been had, including myself because I actually took the time to make a website about the whole ordeal- I actually helped garner attention to the whole thing - I played right into their hands. Some insiders close to Kanye actually admitted that Kanye and 50 cent are friends and that this whole thing was started to gain attention to their albums and to increase their sales. The insider also said that Kanye will be at 50's album release party. But, I don't care, I still want 50 cent to retire and I want you to post your negative comments and sign my petition for him to leave the game by going here: http://www.50centvskanye.com/

I am not a 50 hater, but I am so tired of his
insecure self. Whenever it is time for
an album to drop 50 comes, with more drama. Why
can't he just sell his records on
the music and not always have some beef!! Let
fiddy know that the rap game don't need him. Tell
him that there are too many other hot
artists out there so america does not need to
worry about him, his weak lyrics, and
corny style!
