Securing Bank Tellers against Bank Robberies

Lately there have been a lot more crimes pertaining to bank robberies. The robbers just walk into the bank with little or no disguise and no metal detector or security guards and hands the teller a note demanding money. They are placing the note on the counter with both hands. The notes state that they have gun and they demand money. Since both hands on the counter, no weapons will be shown. These robbers are edgy and jumpy and possibly agitated during the robbery.
You don't know what is going to set them off to pull out the gun and start shooting. The robbers may shoot a bank teller or other employee or maybe even a bank customer. It would deter bank robber if they knew that bank tellers are armed and will fight back when being robbed. Bank tellers have vulnerable jobs, not knowing who is going to come in and demand money and just start a shooting. Banks need more security.
The surveillance cameras aren't deterring the robber. Every bank teller should have pepper spray or a taser stun gun on their side. With having the pepper spray, the tellers would be able to spray the robber. The pepper spray shoots up to 15 feet. The robber would be temporarily incapacitated and authorities would be on site before the effects wore off. Most pepper spray have UV dye in them so even if the robber did get away they would have dye marking their face.
This marking dye takes at least 3 days to wear off. You can not just wash the dye of with soap and water. The dye would help identify the robber if needing to ask for the help of the public to find him. The marking dye will also be on the robbers hands and clothing. By rubbing the pepper spray in it only worsens the effects of the pepper and the dye. Pepper spray is an oil and is not water soluble. Depending on the capsaicin content and scoville heat units the pepper spray effects could last anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes.
Not only having the tellers armed with pepper spray but with taser stun gun also. The taser stun gun will shoot the barbs out up to 15 feet. The taser stun gun sends out an electrical impulse that shut down the central nervous system. The impulse overrides any message that your brain is sending to your other parts of your body and temporarily incapacitate the bank robber.
Another security measure would be having a Skylink Security System with autodialer and panic alarms as well the silent alarms. Silent alarms are normally centrally located by the tellers. Tellers may not be able to get to the silent alarm. The Skylink Security System with autodialer and panic alarms could help not being able to trip the silent alarms. The panic alarms could be carried on every employee and with a touch of a button a signal is sent to the main unit and the police are dispatched out.
Extreme Measures
We could also take this to the other extreme. Maybe tellers having guns behind the counter would solve the issue. The tellers and other bank employees should have to take a police course on gun safety, should keep up on their training skills having so many hours in at the shooting range and checking the guns in an out of the bank. Also putting bullet proof Plexiglas up from the counter to the ceiling and only having a little hole in the Plexiglas to speak through and having the half dish to pass cash through, 3 foot thick concrete walls and counters. Banks should also have a couple of security guards on duty at all times and metal detectors at doorways.
This may no be the friendliest way of doing business, but it would deter the bank robbers from attempting to rob the bank because they know that it would not get them anywhere. Extra security measures would help the employees and most customers feel safer about the bank and their money. Bank owners should care about their employees and want to protect them in whatever way that they can.
