When family and friends come for extended visits, where do you put them? Use this basement idea and create the perfect guest room for your friends and family.
We all know how awkward it can feel to visit someone and not have a place to sleep. You either find yourself taking one of the kid's rooms or you are bunking out on the couch. Give your guests some much needed relief by giving them a space of their very own.
In order to implement this great basement remodeling idea, you need to clear out your basement. Here is a little shopping list of the items you will need to complete your basement project. - Wall paint - Carpet or a nice rug - Some bedding for your guest bed - A comfy sofa or a couple chairs to give your guests a sitting area - A small dorm-sized refrigerator to leave snacks and refreshments for your guests. - A side table with a clock - A bill to give to your guests for their stay... just kidding!
Paint the walls in the color you have picked out. Try and get the colors to coordinate with the bed comforter and any furniture in the room. As an example, choose what color you like best in your bed cover and match it to your walls.
Install your floors, or hire a professional to do it for you. Now it is furniture time. Situate it to flow nicely in the room, you don't want the space to feel cramped.
There are a few things you can do for this basement remodeling idea to make your guests feel even more at home. Add a coffee pot in the room and some great flavored coffee. Leave a few mugs and some condiments down there.
Putting a small television in the room will give your guests the ability to watch some television late a night without get in the way of everyone else.
Your guests will no longer feel like they are getting in the way, or kicking someone out of their own room. This is a great basement remodeling idea, especially if you have a lot of guests around the holidays. Have fun and enjoy your guests.
