Tuscany is a beautiful region in Central Italy stretching from the Tyrrehenian Sea in the west to the foothills of the Apennine Mountains in the east. Spanning over 20,000 kilometres, with a population of 3.6 million, Tuscany is famous for its rich artistic legacy, culinary treasures and incredible wines. In addition, this area has great historic value and has several nature reserves. All this has made Tuscany and its capital city, Florence extremely popular tourist destinations and an ideal place to invest in property.
Tuscany has a mild climate in general, with small variations between the regions due to the geography of the area. The summers are hotter in the coast and in the valleys than in the hills, where the climate is more continental. What makes Tuscany so appealing is the vast natural beauty of the landscapes – from hilly pastures and vineyards to sandy beaches with pine forests.
Tuscany is also one of the most developed regions in Italy for many reasons – an integrated economic system, strategic location in the Mediterranean basin and excellent social organization. Tuscany is open to tourists and foreign industrial activities, making it a popular place to settle down in.
There are many gorgeous properties for sale all over Tuscany. Foreign investors seeking to buy property in Italy traditionally head for this region, in particular hotspots such as Florence, Pisa, Arezzo and the Chianti region.
What do these regions have to offer? Florence is often nicknamed the art capital of Italy, and is like a shrine to the Renaissance. With numerous monuments, galleries, paintings, sculptures and beautiful churches, it is without doubt, one of the finest cities in Italy. Florence boasts beautiful villas which are competitively priced. Another famous area in Tuscany is the busy cosmopolitan city, Pisa. Although most famous for its leaning tower, Pisa also has its fair share of art galleries and cultural exhibitions. Chianti Region is one of the well known places for property in Tuscany. Chianti boasts marvellous scenic and sensory experiences. This is the region of vineyards and wine, wooded hills and castles. Close to Chianti Region is Arezzo, an old town built in terraces on a hill – how charming does that sound? The main square in Arezzo is surrounded by medieval houses and antique buildings.
