Bar Stools and Counter Stools the Perpetual Fad

Fads, they come and they go, and they come again, and they go again! Makes you dizzy doesn’t it? There is a lot to be said about something that is always in style. You know you can always pull out a classic from the closet rack, and use it over and over without wondering if you are in or out! It makes life a bit less complicated.
Well, it is true for more than just clothing. A classic is always in style, like a classic car for instance, these are always admired, and rightfully so, they were built to last. Bar stools and counter stools is another item always in style. They can be improved and updated by the use of new fabric, styles, and colors, but they are still tried and true bar stools.
Now if they are made by hand, you are sure to get something that will stand the test of time, as there is more pride taken when producing these fine pieces of furniture.
In times not too distant, there were craftsmen who were gifted in the art of building for instance, who crafted beautiful works of art. These extraordinary pieces were built with nothing but the utmost in quality, such works of art were precious heirlooms and they were passed from generation to generation with pride.
Sadly and with dismay, the pride of craftsmanship is quickly becoming a thing of the past. With the "make a quick buck" philosophy that is so prevalent today, the motto is make it fast and sell as many as you can, oh and because it’s cheap it will have to be replaced over and over…….cha ching! And guess who is going to have to buy it again and again. This mentality gives no thought to the piles of garbage created at our landfills, and certainly no thought as to consideration for the consumer.
There are still companies out there who desire to create a product that says quality, and is proudly made here in America. They are however fast becoming few and far between, partly because people are content to put up with inferior workmanship. They fail to take into account however, that if they purchase something of quality, it will last a great deal longer and save them a considerable amount of money in the long run.
So, my plea and challenge to you consumers when purchasing bar stools or counter stools, or any items for the home is to consider buying quality made in America products. Maybe if we refuse to accept these substandard items, we can get back to producing true works of art again, worthy of passing along to our posterity.
Let’s also support those companies who are still here in America, who have not let the opportunity for a quick dollar lure them out of the country. We can set our sights higher, and demand better by refusing to buy junk over and over. Let’s refuse the latest fad of the day, and pressure companies to make something that will last.
