E-zine is a coined term for magazine published online. It is a newsletter with a variety of subjects or themes that are delivered to subscribers. As soon as the number of subscribers is large enough, the publisher of the e-zine will be selling space in it to internet entrepreneurs and to affiliates. Here are some strategy that an affiliate marketer should remember to obtain the maximum benefits of e-zine advertising.
*A number of e-zines are just paragraphs sent in an email, while other e-zines provide links to other sites. To encourage its recipients or subscribers to have an active role, it is essential for affiliate to pick e-zine that provide external links to other sites. If the affiliates has signed up with a pay-per-click program, the affiliate can arrange the link to be directed to the merchant’s site or to the affiliate’s website.

There are 2 types of ezine ads: Solo ads which are more expensive and the Banner-like ads which are much affordable. The advantage of a solo ad is that you don’t have competition in contrast to the banner-like ads where you will be competing with the rest. The affiliate marketer must look into his budget and decide which ezine ad will yield a higher profit.

Affiliate marketers must pay attention on the placement of the ads.The ads on top are better than ads placed in the middle of the newsletter article. An ad placed right in the middle will in all probability be overlooked by the reader. While the ad found at the top will surely be read first. The top ads are ,of course, more expensive than the middle ads. But what good will a middle ad do when it cannot even get one visitor? Next to top ads, the bottom ads are effective. When the article of the newsletter is appealing, the reader will finish the article and find the bottom ads. Since the reader is through reading, he is more inclined to click on the link of the bottom ad.

To have an e-zine ad that seeks out a particular audience, the affiliate must find out from the newsletter’s publisher the topics of the next issues. Once the next issue is identified, for example "vintage cars", the associate can select from among his products which is most related to the issue, for example, "car parts". An e-zine ad about another topic, such as "computer software" will be overlooked by the reader.
