Time and time again the most successful professional fitness coaches have 3 main strategies they incorporate to reach the top of the industry. The ones that don't practice these principles generally will not become as successful.
The sad thing is not everyone who wakes up with that fitness business desire for success actually ends up reaching the top. As a matter of fact, most trainers don't become overly success. Why? Because they have not had the correct personal trainer training.
There are 3 basic pillars of personal training business success that must be followed by any fitness pro who really wants to make it to the top. Neglecting one of the 3 fitness business success pillars will most likely sabotage your overall results.
If you are truly serious about dominating your niche in the personal trainer business market, then I strongly encourage you to incorporate not one, not two, but all three of the fitness pro success pillars presented below. Every upper echelon professional trainer incorporates all three.
3 Personal Training Business Pillars Of Success
- Invest in continuing personal trainer education.
Whatever you do, don't ever think you know everything when it comes to exercise science. As the industry continues to evolve you must be plugged into the cutting edge of what is going on. Never, ever, stop learning more about anatomy, exercise physiology, kinesiology, and even nutrition.
It is wise to invest a set amount of time, and money on continuing education each week. Schedule it! Plan ahead. Attend fitness business seminars, and workshops. Make sure you are getting monthly research publications from the NSCA, and/or ACSM.
Watch videos, and read the blogs of the most respected strength, and conditioning professionals in the industry. With the use of the internet, continuing education for your personal training business is quite simple. You have the information you need at your fingertips.
Promise yourself to never stop investing in your personal trainer education. The most successful fitness professionals place an extreme value on continuing education.
- Master personal trainer marketing, and sales.
In order to generate a significant fitness business salary you must really understand basic marketing, and sales. If you do not master these skills, then your personal trainer salary will surely suffer.
For every hour you invest in the physical training aspect of the business invest a quarter of the time in information on how to sell, and market fitness training. Doing so will surely take your business to the next level.
You should regularly attend personal trainer business seminars, invest in fitness trainer courses, and subscribe to online personal training business newsletters such as Personal Training Insider.
- Ongoing study of human behavior, and coaching.
The 3rd pillar of personal training business success is to educate yourself on coaching, motivating, and influencing individuals. Isn't that what you have to do as a professional fitness trainer? Your job is to motivate, and influence clients to greater health, fitness, and quality of life. Therefore, you need to continuously invest in the study of human behavior if you want to make an impact in people's lives. Remember, you are in a business in which you inspire people into taking action.
If you really want to succeed in your personal training business it is important to follow the 3 pillars of success mentioned above. The most successful fitness professionals continually invest in each of the three above. It is a very wise choice for you to do the same.
