The residents of Chandler must be very delighted that an additional medical facility has just been established in the area. The Chandler Care is now open to serve people and they are located along the northeast corner of the Galveston Elementary School Property at 777 E. Galveston St. The first Chandler Center was established in 1996 in San Marcos Resource Center. But with the new health center, there will be more medical attention addressed to those who need it.
Eleven years ago, having this center was just then a dream. But with the determination of the people behind establishing it, the 8,800 square feet has finally materialized. The Center caters to almost all kinds of medical concerns such as food banks, concerns for hearing and vision.
It was of course no joke to be able to put up this Center. The funding for the construction was of primary concern. But with the help of good-hearted individuals and institutions, the $2.5 million worth of construction was finally completed and now people of Chandler are enjoying the fruits of their labor and generosity.
The hospital personnel were another matter. It’s a good thing that some doctors are good Samaritans. There are two mental health practitioners who are financed by the Southwest Behavioral Health Center and a grant from the Catholic Healthcare West who devote their time working in the hospital voluntarily along with other medical doctors.
The integration of all medical needs into just one center has earned its awe and amazement from several people. One of them is Director Susan Horan, who vocalized how glad she is that the center is doing fine.
The center has all come a long way. Before classrooms were transformed into clinics to do physical and medical check ups, storage for immunizations and foods. But with the center’s expansion, it has also expanded its reach in giving service to people. They may even give further services especially to patients who made prior appointments. Horan was just agreeably happy with the set up since most of the patients’ medical concerns can be addressed in just one center.
The volunteer doctors also found it a joy to be working in the Center. Dr. Greg Auxier who came from Pediatric Society and has been a paediatrician for 10 years, has also started giving voluntarily some of his time to the center. He has started seeing children who have flu or hearing problems and performs medical examinations among babies. The doctor however clarifies that even if he gives free service in the center, there is no distribution of contraceptives going on there.
Health is one of the primary concerns of us humans. We can do better and productive things when we are healthy. With the advent of Chandler Health Center, more and more people are being benefitted by the Center. People who search Ahwatukee homes for sale may find this place charming, friendly and caring enough to get them settled. The Ahwatukee real estate must be booming as well because of this new facility.
