From the time when transportation has been born into existence, up until now when technology has made major advancements to the modes of transportation, we can all admit that it has indeed made convenient solution to our ways of living. Today, a person’s mode of transportation is even indicative of status. Just imagine how life would be if transportation as we know it has not been developed. It just would be dreary and things would not go as fast as they are doing now.
The bus is one of the most widely used modes of transportation these days. If you do not have a car to drive just yet or if you just do not feel like driving at all, the bus is going to be your best ally. And the subway just follows as this mode of transportation is only available in the big cities. Yet along with its dominance are issues regarding the utility and processes involved. One example is the Ahwatukee bus service which has been subjected to some resolutions.
The city council of Phoenix has been profoundly thinking about the future and destiny of these bus services in the Ahwatukee area. The city council’s members are debating if ALEX and its local explorer should cease or continue to render service in the area. ALEX, just so you know, is what they call the bus service.
The city of Phoenix asserts that ALEX as well as the other four bus companies servicing the city area is but an unaffordable indulgence. A final decision has to be set on Tuesday. A member of the city council, Sal DiCiccio, declares that people riding the ALEX are actually having a hard time attending the council’s meeting. But that should not stop them from getting what these people have to say about the service.
Despite this, she also says that it is the right of the city’s residents to speak up and express their sides on the bus service that they prefer. Thus, she gave an email address and a hotline number which Phoenix citizens can use and contact so their opinions may be counted.
The city gets its funding from various sources including assistance funds from the state lottery. Conversely, the allotment of $9.2 million from this resource is expected not to be released because of the present financial crisis in the country.
An annual fee of $700,000 is paid by the Ahwatukee to the bus services rendering transportation to the entire vicinity. Then on March 25, suggestions were given which says that $6 million shall be deducted from the circulator program giving free rides to Ahwatukee citizens.
In fact, ALEX is extremely useful to all citizens who need a ride for going to school and in performing errands. So citizens should also be consulted about this definitely indispensable matter. Suggestions included cutting the budget off, changing the schedule of the bus service and payment of fares. If you are angling at purchasing Ahwatukee homes for sale and Ahwatukee real estate, you should check the availability of such transportation modes.
