The real estate market in San Diego has remained relatively strong compared to many other areas in the greater Southern California areas. The average home price in the area is around $390,000 and is forecasted to gain 4% in the next 2 – 5 years. Time will tell whether or not the area will actually grow and increase in value, but analysts are positive about the near future.
The mayor of San Diego is Republican Jerry Sanders, and was previously Chief of Police before becoming the mayor. Jerry Sanders has a long history of community leadership, and has worked with the city in various capacities before being elected Mayor. It’s interesting to note, that despite being a Republican mayor, he signed a resolution to reverse the ban on same-sex weddings, after revealing that his own daughter is gay and in a relationship.
