When it comes to the land of television, you could never say that there is a lack of something to watch; at least in the overall scheme of things. Because of this fact, it can be difficult to poke around all of the bad shows to find those that truly entertain and remain relevant. But instead of sitting around and hoping that the best British comedy series will find you one evening, you must be the one to seek them out. There is no need to worry, however; two of them are already listed below for your pleasure and convenience.
Are You Being Served follows the lives of department store employees. Though simple in premise, the situations that these employees found themselves in were perhaps not quite average. From spending the night in a department store display, to learning how to master ballroom dancing, few days were truly dull at Grace Brothers. Every member of the cast seemed to have certain chemistry with each other, even if the bantering in front of the camera was not as positive as some viewers would prefer. If you are interested in the struggles of the working class, mixed with a blend of excellent humour, be sure to check this out.
For those that find their amusement from the life of a domestic housewife, Keeping Up Appearances delivers this need with style. Hyacinth Bucket may not be of the blue blood set, but that does not mean she does not think she is. Going so far as to disassociate from her less desired branch of the family, she has frequent fancy suppers with her neighbours; few escape her need to brag about expensive things in her home. Nothing will stop her in her mission to be accepted as a member of high class society, no matter how middle class she may actually be. With laughs available for anyone, this is a television series that should not be missed.
A good television series may not pop up that often; this is especially true of great series that stay with you no matter how much time has passed since it was made. Finding them may not be the easiest thing in the world to do, but it is not impossible. The next time you find yourself bored on an uneventful day, make sure to give the above shows a try. You may find your hours a little brighter, and an extra smile has never hurt anyone.
