Weight Loss Tips

Need to lose weight quickly? Finding it tough to do so? Here are some of my best weight loss tips to help you succeed in your mission to shift the flab.

Exercise Is Not Necessary

Many people give up on losing weight because they cannot stand an existence of eating next to nothing and working out like crazy in the gym.

In fact, despite what the media and so-called "fitness professionals" say, exercise is not necessary at all to lose weight. There are countless cases of people who have lost weight through diet alone. In fact, exercise may even be dangerous for some overweight people.

So if you have found it difficult to stick to a weight loss program in the past then consider dropping the exercise part. Your weight loss will be slower but you will probably also have a higher chance of success in reaching your weight loss goals.

Stop Eating When You're No Longer Hungry

Recipes and great tasting culinary delights are a recent innovation in the history of man. Our species has existed for tens of thousands of years on only basic dishes. You could argue that food tastes even better than it should do. Plus it does not help matters when food manufacturers load what we eat with artificial flavorings and other adulterants.

This means that many people eat past the point when they are no longer hungry. In fact, great deals of people see great tasting food as one of the sole pleasures in their life and eat out of comfort when they are not hungry to start with.

The key thing is to eat only when you are hungry. Eat half as much or three quarters of what you normally eat and be absolutely honest with yourself - are you still hungry? Is your body still demanding more food? If it really is, eat three more mouthfuls and be done with your meal.

You will be amazed at how much weight you can lose with this strategy.

Glycaemic Index

Glycaemic index is a measure of how quickly energy is delivered by foods. Many people are overweight today in part because so much our food is refined and therefore has a high glycaemic index. We eat it and our blood sugar goes skyward before dropping like a stone. This is also why many people are now developing Type II diabetes.

Eat foods that have a lower GI. This means unrefined foods like brown bread, brown pasta etc. It also means fruits that contain stones such as peaches and plums.

Not only do unrefined foods have more taste than their refined counterparts but they will also prevent you from getting the artificial hunger pangs that normally come from the likes of sugary foods and white bread.
