Who has not heard of Cannes? This glamorous and glitzy town, situated in the South Eastern corner of France, plays host to the annual Cannes Film Festival and provides a perfect tourist destination with picturesque beaches, luxury shops, restaurants and hotels. Here are six great reasons to invest in Cannes property.
Great location and accessibility: Cannes is within the Alpes-Maritimes department of Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur, and is a stepping stone to the Alps, Provence, Monaco and Italy. It is just a 30 minute drive away from the city of Nice, which has a large international airport. It is very accessible and within a two hour flight of most European cities, such as London, Berlin and Madrid. Cannes is also connected to Paris and other major cities in France and Europe by excellent road and rail connections.
Great climate: What makes Cannes so popular is its sunny Mediterranean climate, with long warm summers and short mild winters. This area boasts close to 300 days sunshine per year, and rainfall is infrequent - meaning that you can enjoy your property in Cannes all year long.
Great beaches and activities: Cannes is blessed with lovely golden sandy beaches that stretch for miles and miles. The Croisette is a famous waterfront promenade lined with palm trees and excellent restaurant and cafes and is frequently visited. Cannes offers various water sports, such as jet skiing and parasailing and is situated no more than one and a half hours away from local ski resorts for winter activities.
Great culture: Cannes is rich in aesthetic value and has many old stone houses and narrow streets that offer a taste of traditional France. With many museums and ancient buildings to explore, and music, dance, theatre and comedy venues to enjoy, there is plenty to see and learn in Cannes.
Great shopping: Shopping in Cannes is a paradise. It is one of the best shopping experiences in the world, with a wide variety of shops to suit all needs. With designer shops such as Armani, Chanel, Gucci, Christian Dior to name a few and a wonderful array of small boutiques, clothes and jewellery on side streets there is something for all shoppers here.
Great economy: Cannes boasts a booming economy, mainly because of the Film Festival held in May annually. Apart from this, there are several festivals and show events held throughout the year, bringing in various travellers. Majority of the economic environment is based on tourism, trade and aviation.
