Astaxanthin (antioxidant)-
Asataxanthin has the potential to permeate to the brain. With this significant characteristic of the benefits of krill oil as opposed to any other marine oil, it has the capabilities to reduce anxiety, delay retinal detachment, prevent macular degeneration in the eyes, to prevent the onset of Alzheimer's disease. In addition, it can curb certain negative behavioral patterns that affect the brain from functioning normally caused by such disorders as bipolar disorder, depression, and ADHD. It also has been proven to improve concentration, attention span, cognitive responses, and memory.
Docosahexanoic acid (DHA)
DHA (docosahexanoic acid) has many attributes that are derived and contribute greatly to the benefits of krill oil. DHA is known to control insulin resistance which can help people who experience large fluctuations in their blood sugar levels. It can promote positive thyroid hormone production as well.It has also been linked to aiding in the alleviation of many bowel disorders such as IBS( irritable bowel syndrome) and such. In addition, it can aid in balancing hormone systems in the body that can cause reproductive disorders, premenstrual syndrome, and infertility.
Eicosapentanoic acid (EPA)
EPA (eicosapentanoic acid) is known to increase oxygenation to many of the vital systems and organs of the body, especially the heart. It can spare injury from occurring within the cell membranes within the heart due to deprivation of proper amounts of oxygen. It also can provide it's benefits of krill oil supplements by acting as a therapeutic agent for many ailments such as chronic pain, chronic fatigue disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, migraines, degenerative eye diseases. In fact, EPA is also being tested for the treatment of schizophrenia.
