Can you honestly say that you are happy with the leadership that you are getting from your MLM up line? Many people in this industry feel as though their up line has totally forgotten they exist.

Today, only a handful of Network Marketers have any decent MLM training. If you are someone who is just starting out in Network Marketing, or have been around for a while and still not making progress, then you have probably been recruited or sponsored by an individual who may not be looking out for your best interests.

What I mean by this is that at the end of the day, this type of home based business is a numbers game. The more people you get to sign up underneath you, the more likely you are going to reach those compensation goals you have in mind. This ‘distraction’ causes uplines to forget to give their new recruits any formal, useful MLM training, which is a real shame.

This isn’t a good thing at all, because once you are sponsored in as a newbie, you might only be told the pure basics of how to grow your business. Most of the time this leads to applying very poor sales and marketing methods that gets next to zero results!

Let’s see if I can ring a bell or two. An ineffective method may involve you approaching and pitching your inner circle of contacts on your opportunity. These are your family members, close friends and acquaintances.

So why exactly does your up line advise you to do this? Well, I see it as a very crude screening process. All you are doing is pressing your opportunity on these people to find out who is interested and hopefully by the end of doing this exercise you end up with at least a few new recruits.

But there is a catch. Actually it’s not a catch, but in fact a fairly serious consequence and that’s alienating yourself from your family and very close friends in the process of using such bad methods of prospecting. Would you want to put yourself through this? I’m pretty sure you don’t want to, I certainly don’t.

There are also other side effects such as the damage your morale suffers from by being rejected so many times, not to mention the number of occasions you have made a fool out of yourself.

What I’m trying to say here is that there are far better ways to promote your Network Marketing venture. There are techniques that actually attract potential prospects to you as opposed to applying direct marketing methods which get you nowhere.
