Yeast infection is an illness caused by an excess of the Candida albicans inside the human body. These are fungi also known as yeast. Yeast naturally exists inside the body to help in digesting food. The good bacteria in the body help in keeping the yeast to a tolerable level. This maintains a balanced relationship between the good bacteria and the yeast. When this balance is disrupted, the good bacteria are reduced to a smaller amount, and the yeast overly multiplies.
Now, the disproportion of the good bacteria has many causes. They are basically the causes of yeast infection. Yeast infection has a lot of symptoms or manifestations. Itching, swelling, a burning sensation, and irritation around the infected area are examples of the symptoms. For those who do not want to suffer from the illness, knowing the different causes of yeast infection will be of great help. After all, avoiding the illness is the best way to keep away from the symptoms.
One of the causes of yeast infection or the overproduction of yeast inside the human body is a large intake of sugary food products. Sugar feeds the yeast, therefore making them grow. Another example of the causes of yeast infection is taking birth control pills which interrupt the natural pH level that the vagina has. Taking antibiotics are one of the causes of yeast infection, too. Antibiotics interrupt the body's immune system that keeps the amount of yeast in control. Anti-inflammatory drugs are another culprit in the destruction of good bacteria. A high intake of baked products with yeast is one of the causes of yeast infection. It contributes to the existence of yeast in large amounts. Eating a lot of beef and dairy products also contributes to the infection. In addition, chlorine kills the good bacteria in the human body. Drinking tap water with high chlorine content therefore gives way to yeast infection. Another one of the causes of yeast infection is having a highly toxic lifestyle. Drinking alcoholic beverages, smoking, taking in prohibited drugs, and eating junk food makes the capability of the body to fight off poisonous substances like yeast. For women, one of the causes of yeast infection and the recurrence of such is the natural hormonal imbalance that they experience during menstruation, pregnancy, and even after child birth. This is the reason why almost all women experience yeast infection at least once in their lives. Having intercourse with an infected person without protection may also transfer the yeast infection. The use of different perfumes, lotions or anything that is not recommended by the dermatologists may cause skin yeast infection.
These are the causes of yeast infection which can be avoided. They are almost a part of our daily lives, but it will be excellent if we stay away from them.
