What are you going to do with the remaining 6 months of 2010.

Come with me for a quick moment down memory lane. Just about 6 months ago you were celebrating the New Year to be. You were with all your friends and family, possibly sipping on your favorite tequila or hogging down your favorite beer, feeling overwhelming amounts of joy because of the hope the New Year offered. You ate, drank and sang with your closest friends and family members and you anxiously awaited minute by minute, second by second the arrival of 2010.
2010 would not only be the beginning of a new year but also the beginning of a new decade. In the midst of all the commotion you heard someone scream "Hey we got 30 seconds before the New Year". Then as a group you all said 5,4,3,2,1 Happppyyyy New Yearr! Everyone jumped for joy, hugging and celebrating the new decade. Standing in this moment of ecstasy you visually declared several goals that you would accomplish and you probably even sweared that you would give it your all, like bood, sweat and tears all! You clinched your fist and said this is a done deal.
But is it really? As you sit here today reading this post, is it really a done deal? Have you accomplished some of your goals or are you even close? If the answer is a NO to these questions, then the question to ask is what happened?
Without knowing you personally I can assert it was some of the following if not all:
1- Ah, I am too busy to do that now, besides the year ain't over yet! I still have 6 months before the year is over.
2- You started strong and gun-ho but stopped and haven't been able to get back on track.
3- You ran into a big problem or had a big fight and you let that circumstance take precedence over your dreams.
4- You started strong then you woke up one day and said "What was I thinking when I said I would do __________"!
5- I'm sure glad I did not tell any of my friends any of my goals because then I would of really looked bad, besides they all know I got too much on my plate anyway.
Champion I am gonna tell you like it is. You may not like it but somebody is going to have to be straight with you and it's going to be me. I am not really interested in hearing your excuses and stories of why you have not advanced in those areas. The bottom line is that you have not kept your word. And yes it's going to really take something to fulfill on your possibilities. It's going to require you taking action in spite of you not wanting too.
Do you think Ghandi wanted to quit on his mission to bring peace to India through non violence. Of course he did. But, did he quit? No he didn't! Imagine what would of happened to India and the world if he did. What would of happened if many of the leaders we all know in the history books would have quit when they felt like quitting. My advice is stop complaining and get back into action.
Below are some suggestions that you can do to make the next 6 months, your best 6 months ever:
1- Form the habit of writing down 3 things that are working well in your life every day. Doing so gets your mind off what is not working and gets you into a space of gratitude, something we forget to do frequently.
2- Share your goal with 3 friends and tell them to hold you accountable. Tell them to call you once a week or several times a week to ask you how's it going and how they can support you. We must learn to train our friends so they can bring the best out of us, not the worst out of us. Humans become champions when they are held accountable. You'll be surprised how that 1 call will come on the day you really needed it.
3- Honor your commitments and not your feelings. If you decided to loose 10 pounds and the alarm goes off and you don't feel like getting out of your bed, then remember this sentence "WAKE UP CHAMPION AND TAKE ACTION"! Just remember you're never going to feel like doing anything. Just tell your feelings "wow your doing such a great job at convincing me, but you're not going to win. As a matter of fact, I am going to honor my word and do it anyway. When you start to honor your commitments, you start to build momentum in your life and eventually you become unstoppable! Don't blame me if after doing this you become totally unstoppable. lol
If you take on doing these three things starting today, then I can guaranteed you that 2010 will finish with a bang!
