The issue of overweight and obesity has become a serious health concern of the national scale in the United States. That's more than a half of the entire population, making people with healthy weight a minority in the US. In real terms these numbers are expressed in tens and hundreds of million people living their lives. Of course, such a situation can be regarded as epidemic, if only people would understand the potential health hazards of being overweight. And the least that can be done about it is informing people about the health risks connected to overweight and obesity.
Fortunately, a large part of Americans understands the implications of excessive weight over the general health condition of a person. Some of the most common health problems linked to overweight include such problems as heart diseases, diabetes, strokes, and certain types of cancer. However, there's one serious health problem that doesn't get as widely discussed as all other, but still poses a serious threat: female infertility.
The concept of having children may seem not as important as the risk of having a heart attack or stroke for many people, still it is a very important matter for most women in this country. And while there's still not sufficient data on the problem, it is still clear that many overweight women have problems with fertility due to a set of factors. One of the leading reasons behind this is the hormonal imbalance, which is quite common in overweight and obese women. The main hormone that is in deficit with overweight women is Leptin. This hormone is responsible for regulating the appetite and energy circulation in the body. Leptin is also believed to be responsible for fertility, as lower amounts of this hormone make it harder for a woman to conceive.
Another important factor that may influence female fertility and is linked to excessive weight is the ovulation cycle. Women with weight problems usually report having odd ovulation cycles, while some obese women report lacking any of thereof. Ovulation is a very important function of the female body, responsible for the ability to conceive a child. And when there are problems with this process, it will certainly be hard to conceive a child.
Finally, conception is strongly related to the overall health of a woman, Younger, healthier women are more likely to conceive a child than those with serious health problems. And taking the fact that overweight and obesity are regarded as serious health problems, known to cause additional complications, it's not a big surprise that overweight and obese women often have a hard time conceiving a child.
What can you do about it? If you suffer from obesity or overweight the most obvious solution is losing weight, Start exercising, follow a diet, obtain a prescription for a drug like Phentermine and get rid of the excessive weight. With every additional pound lost you will be more likely to improve your health, including fertility as well. However, when using drugs like Phentermine, make sure to consult with your doctor about the use in regard to pregnancy. You may need to follow specific dosage and safety measures in order to make things right.
