Contrary to what other people think, gasoline gift cards are probably one of the most practical and appealing gifts nowadays, regardless of the occasion and the gender of the person you’re giving it to. With the changing economy, gifts such as these would turn out to be just a big help to keep the buck in the wallet.
Let’s face it, fuel expenses are one of the major concerns of consumers nowadays. With the need to get up and drive to work - not to mention the traffic that can add up to the fuel consumption - it’s sometimes hard to keep up with the daily expenses especially when price hike become a regular headline on the newspapers.
When you get one of those gasoline gift cards, however, you get to enjoy a little no-spending moment and don’t get to pull out those few bucks until a certain period.
Gasoline gift cards come in different denominations - they come in $25, $50, $100 and $250. They can be availed either at your local gasoline station, at the establishments these gas companies teamed up with, or you can also purchase them online.
The good thing about these gift cards is the safety of not having to use your credit cards and risk giving out your credit card number. When giving it as a gift though, it is best to double check the expiry date. If it is possible, choose a date that is at least a month before you intend to give the gift card as a present.
Another good thing about these handy gift cards is the fact that they can be "reloaded" by purchasing credits to use it to purchase gas again. In some cases, since they can be a product of a multiple company tie-up, you can even use them to purchase non-gas items as long as they’re purchased in the participating establishments, which is usually indicated on the card. To reload the card, simply inquire from the cashier at the gas station or the store clerk at the participating establishment.
In some retailers, especially the big ones, when you purchase a gasoline gift card at any of their store branch, they would even offer a rebate of up to 3 cents per gallon, which is really not bad at all, just as long as the gift card is consumed at the pump station.
Try to visit the nearest gas station at your area now and find out how you can save or help someone save on fuel expenses through gasoline gift cards.
