There are several thousand consumers involved in a class action denture cream lawsuit involving both popular denture creams.

The grounds for their lawsuits are denture cream poisoning. This involves the overdose of zinc found in high levels in both poligrip and fixodent. The recommended daily dose for men is 11 mg and the recommended dose for women is 8 mg, published by the institute of medicine the highest dose tolerated by an adult is 40 mg.
