While there are many different kinds of gas heaters in the market today, the vent less kind have become very popular of late. This is predominantly because of the very high fuel efficiency that they offer as compared to other kinds of heaters. As their name suggests, they do not have any vents and therefore do not take in or emit any air and emission respectively. They are available in three basic models which include:
Wall Mounted: These gas heaters are ideally meant for large walls and should not be moved around. They offer advantages that include space saving as well as great heat distribution.
Freestanding: As the name suggests, these are typically mobile units which can be moved around as and when required. The only drawback is that they take up unnecessary space and may be a safety hazard for small children.
The third is the display variety which has many sub models that appeal to different user requirements and needs.
Advantages And Disadvantages
There are many advantages of vent less gas heaters. They provide up to 99.9 percent fuel efficiency which places them at the top as far as running costs go. The fact that they use little fuel and give out no emissions also makes them a favorite with environment conservationists. Unfortunately, they need to be used with care without which they may not work so well. For example, not ensuring enough ventilation in a room or fixing a powerful gas heater in too small a room can lead to asphyxiation. There is also a misconception regarding the carbon monoxide emissions by these heaters. The truth is that all combustion will produce some carbon monoxide and the level produced by a gas heater is far lower than a conventional fireplace. It is however important to ensure that there is sufficient airflow in the room where any heating device is installed.
One real disadvantage of these ventless heaters is the increased humidity levels which too can be counteracted with proper air ventilation. It is however important to remember that gas heaters though cheaper and easy to run, require a great deal of care and maintenance to work effectively. There are some models that can be serviced at home but many others require to be taken to the factory or workshop for all servicing needs.
The kind of gas heaters that you invest in should depend on the exact need you have for them. Heating for a baby's room requires a different heating device than heating for a garage. The best way to decide the power and kind of heater you need is to call in an expert. They will not only be able to advice on the best heater for your requirement but also the best price and place to source it from. It is important to ensure that you sign a maintenance contract for the heater that you buy to cut down on long term servicing and other repair expenses.
Gas Heater does not give out any harmful emissions and available as free standing, wall mounted and display variety.
