Looking to work from home and heard that Avon is a good source of income? Well becoming a sales representative for Avon, with markets in over 135 companies, could be just what you are looking for.
The "official" Avon compensation plan is not publicly available on the web, so most of this information comes from third party sources. Avon is a direct marketing company that uses door-to-door sales, catalogs and now the Internet. Each distributor is able to have his or her own website for their customers to look at the catalog and place their orders.
To join Avon as an Independent Sales Representative requires an initial fee of $10, which gives you a kit with some business basics and 10 free brochures for your first two campaigns. Each campaign offers a selection of products through brochures that you are expected to distribute. You can sell the products directly or as an e-representative through your web store.
With the Avon compensation plan, you make money through retail commissions from your personal sales. Commission rates increase with volume, from 20% below $145 volume to 50% at $1550 volume and above.
You also receive income from bonuses on the sales in your downline, by reps you have personally sponsored. This is called the leadership opportunity. The bonus size depends on your rank and the initial order volume, increasing from 3% up to 12%. To reach a leadership rank, you need to meet minimum requirements for the number of personal recruits, personal sales and unit sales. Avon also offers one time recruiting bonuses, ranging from $20 to $100. In addition to the income streams, there are also one time recruiting bonuses, ranging from $20 to $100.
The challenge with Avon is acquiring enough sales volume on a repetitive basis to make it a viable source of income. This is where the internet, more specifically internet marketing comes into play. Going door to door is no longer sustainable and you must expand your sales base. Finding leads to build your Avon business will be key in sustaining long term success above your local market. I am a part of more than just a marketing platform, but just as importantly a part of a community of top internet marketers like myself that can help you in generating leads to propel your business to the top.
