One fine morning he simply showed the door to me and said that the company is not able to afford me anymore. I asked for the reason. He answered that the economic downturn has siphoned off the profit of the company. In order to save the company from bankruptcy, the management has decided to lay a certain chunk of the employees. Unfortunately I was one of them.

I don’t consider losing my job as a curse because this hard time had made me start my own work from home business venture. Now, after almost a year, I have started earning more than what used to get as salary. If I can earn more than my salary in a period of one year then just give a thought to the prospect of it after 5 years. This economic down turn has come up as an opportunity for me. Before the recession had started, I always thought of starting my own business, but I always hesitated to leave a steady job. Ultimately, economic downturn has helped me to go for my dream and materialize my own home business.

There are many advantages of starting your own work from home venture. The first and foremost advantage is the flexibility of work. You can work at your will and anytime of your choice. Work life balance is another factor. Before starting my venture my wife always complained about my work-time. But now I can give ample time to my family. To maintain a perfect work life balance, you simply need prior planning. Another aspect that is highly advantageous is the money saved. If you work from home then you can save a lot of money as well as time. How? The answer is given below:

1. A lot of gas will be saved because you don’t need to travel long distance to your work place. This will save a lot of your money.
