A great deal of visitors chooses the province of Mendoza as their favorite holiday destination. One of the many reasons of such a choice relies on this region’s spectacular rivers, home of the most fantastic fishes. Passionate fishers come from different countries and regions to stay at the Diplomatic Hotel and get the chance to catch some of these wonderful specimens. The abundant rivers, lakes and streams provide the perfect environment for the most extraordinary species. Pink salmons, brown and rainbow trout, mackerels and silver smelts are some of the most popular and desired fishes. Their enormous size and astonishing beauty make them irresistible for both amateur and experienced fishers.
The province of Mendoza is sited in the Cuyo region, heading the border with Chile, at the side of with the Andes Mountain Range. In spite of the nice climate conditions, the ground is very dry and it demands massive amounts of water to keep it fertile and productive. That is the reason why several hydroelectric dams have been built in order to make use of the power features provided by the rivers in the area to guarantee electricity supply. Simultaneously the soil can be properly irrigated through channels and tubing systems, and water is given to every home in the region. What is more, the construction of this type of structures lead to the design specific spaces focused on leisure activities, such as fishing or swimming in artificial lakes.
The rainbow trout and the pink salmon are considered quite prestigious species by those who love fishing. Mendoza’s rivers and lakes are frequently the first choice when it comes to catch one of these spectacular creatures. That is because this region offers an unusual combination of quantity and quality of this kind of fishes, and no one want to miss the opportunity to trap one of them. However, many of these species are actually in ecological danger. Fishing mackerels, silver melts, salmons or trout is restricted to a certain number per capita, in order to preserve the environmental balance. In fact, the lakes and rivers where fishing is allowed are especially designated so visitors can find them easily.
Back in the city, the Diplomatic Hotel offers high quality service to its guests, so they do not have to worry about anything during their stay. Spending the most splendid holidays in the land of good sunshine and good wine is the only thing they need to be concerned about.
