At some point of your stay in Mendoza, at the 4 Stars Hotel, you should visit some of the most prestigious wineries in Cuyo region. The province of Mendoza has become worldwide celebrated due to the high quality of its wine production. The excellence of its wines, particularly the Malbec, can be certainly noticed on their color, perfume and flavor. The itinerary of one of the most popular wine tours includes the Route of Wine, a visit to some significant wineries in order to have a closer look to the winemaking process as every step is described with details, from grape growing to wine bottling. .
The tour begins in the morning, as the group goes to Luján de Cuyo, one of the local poles of wine production. The top wineries of the country are located on this area, and they are carefully protected by the Andean Mountain Range. The sun escorts the visitors during the entire journey. In winter, the snow on the mountain peaks gets everyone’s attention. In summer, colors, sounds and life become landscape’s the natural owners.
Tapiz winery is the first stop, where the complete winemaking process is meticulously explained to the visitors. Once they have seen and understood the whole procedure, the guests have the chance to do some wine tasting, drinking the final product directly from the barrels and the tanks. As they can corroborate, the flavor is quite similar to the bottled wine they get to drink during a meal in a restaurant. When it is almost lunchtime the group arrives at the Ruca Malen winery, which is placed in a small and modern building. The visitors go to the cellar, where wine is kept to blend with the oak’s aroma. Once sightseeing is over, they are taken to a special room, where lunch is served for them. During the meal, they combine delicates wines with exquisite first class cuisine. The following site is the Carmelo Patti’s boutique winery. Carmelo used to be one of the best enologists in the country and he provides a great deal of information and enthusiasm to his guests as he talks about his products.
As the guests leave the Carmelo’s lovely winery boutique, they start their way back to Mendoza, to the 4 Stars Hotel. The tour is over, but the aromas and the flavors will remain in their hearts for a long time.
