It's easy to learn how to play Farmville this way and there are plenty of methods to get you on your way. However, we can worry about that later.

First, let’s go through a summary of what you need to be able to know exactly how to play Farmville.

You will need a Facebook account to able to play. All you need is a valid email address and some basic details. Facebook is also free. Facebook is a free social networking site which only requires an email address to get started. There are various ways to find Farmville the game, you can click on the "Applications" menu on the bottom-left of the screen, and look for for the game that way. Another plan is typing "Farmville" in the search bar up the top right of the page.

Once you get to the game, it would seem as though your aim is to plant, plow and harvest numerous crops for profits. By farming this way you will improve your money (Coins) and your experience (XP) in the game. These are the basics to learning how to play Farmville. As you find out more details of the game you will discover Levels, Ribbons, Gifts, all different fun little things.

You will find that the most consistent and usually quickest way of increasing your coins and XP is simply planting and harvesting your crops often. Planting crops involves these three steps, which have to be followed in order for any particular crop.

Plowing is the first of these steps, it requires you to get the soil prepared for your crop. (the farm is divided up into a grid with little squares which your farm is based on, each crop will take up one square or plot on the grid). You are only able to plow one plot at a time. However, once you have purchased a tractor for $30,000, you can plow 4 plots at once. Even though it is a time-saver, it needs fuel to run!

Seeding is the next step to learning how to play Farmville after your plots have been plowed. You can then wait while your little babies grow, each type of plant will take a different amount of time to grow. To see the full list of crop growing times, profit per seed, and profits per month, I highly recommend you take a look at the Farmville spreadsheet

Once your plots are ready to harvest, you can collect the fruit/grains that have grown. You earn coins and experience coins by harvesting. Once you have harvested all of your plots, you can start plowing again and then re-plant your seeds.

So this is the basis of how to play Farmville, but there really is a lot more to it:

You will need to earn some more experience points before you can plant certain crops and tree's. XP points can be gained a number of ways, from harvesting crops to working on a friends farm.

If you want more room on your farm, you can extend your land to allow for this. You will then have more space for some extra plots. There are different ways to finish a land expansion The easiest and most common way on land expansion is to earn enough coins and have the right amount of neighbours to upgrade to the next size. Otherwise, you can purchase the land expansion with "Farm Cash" which is your own real money.

By gaining XP you will level up. What this means is that you will naturally unlock more items to plant and other different things.

I can't explain how to play Farmville without also telling you about how you can earn ribbons for various things. You will notice that you naturally gain loads of ribbons in your day to day farming, things like adopting a selected number of animals to your farm and planting particular crops can award you with ribbons. The main purpose of gaining ribbons in Farmville is to show off your accomplishments to your Facebook friends.

To thrive in Farmville you must be wise in what you plant and everything you do. When learning how to play Farmville you can simply plant and harvest once every 4 days but if your neighbor is harvesting their crops every 6 hours they will usually end up doing a lot better. This means harvesting crops on time, ie; You don't want to let your crops wither because you didn't plan when they were going to be ready to harvest. I can't stress it enough, but you mustn't ever let your crops wither, this will result in lost xp necessary to advance in the game. By doing supplementary things like buying expansions, fertilizing neighbors crops, you can accumulate experience points quicker. It is also a good idea to add lots of neighbors, not just to show off your farm, but also to bag some more experience points because they will fertilize your crops. This is a very good way to get ideas on how you want your own farm to look.

I must say that in order to learn how to play Farmville you just need to jump into the game and let it take a hold of you to really see it's features.
