A belt sander is hand-tool that powered electrically. With an encased motor that runs a circular belt, it looks like a mini sized treadmill. The circular belt is fitted with sandpaper tightly and it covers the entire surface of the circular belt. When the power is on, the belt starts to run and the sandpaper on it will do its work.

Belt sanders comes in different size that ranges from the small hand-held unit to wide enough units which has the power to smooth 4-by-8 foot sheet of plywood and it is mostly used in a manufacturing plant. There are some belt sanders which are tall, such as 1.2 meters and 70 centimeters long belt sanders.
Slack belt sander is type of belt sander which is used in the manufacturing of guitars. Usually finish sanding wood sheds a huge amount of wood dust but by employing belt sander there won’t be any sawdust problem as it is equipped with some bag like structure to collect the sawdust. The only drawback of this belt sander is the noise created when it is on work. So it is better to have some earplugs when you are operating the belt sander. Using this tool will help you get high quality final sanding.
