A lot of people may be wondering why it takes so long to get listed on google. The real truth is though, if you do the right kind of research and apply the methods that are proven to work, then will will not take long at all. I have actually been able to get listed within 24 hours without a lot of work. I just did the research that needed to be done and was able to get the results I wanted.

The main thing that you need to do if you want to get listed fast is find a keyword that does not have a lot of competition. That is the single most critical thing that you will need. There is no need to do any type of backlink creation or Web 2.0 promotion for the search term that you are trying to rank for if it is too competitive. You will just be wasting time on efforts that are not going to get you the results you want.

When you pick a keyword you will want to find one that has the least amount of competing pages. The simplest way to find out how many pages are competing for a search term is by typing it into google with quotation marks around it. When the search results comeback, whatever number you see at the top of the page is the number of competing pages that have been optimized for that search term. The lower the number is the easier it will be to get listed on google for that search term. I would recommend that you do not go after anything that has over 50,000 competing pages. The lower the number of competitors the better off you will be.

I have even looked at the number of pages with out quotes. Sometimes there are search terms that have under 50,000 pages in quotes and also have a low number of pages for a search without quotes. Any time you can get this kind of combination you will usually get very good results. Normally when you search for something with out you get results of more than 1,000,000 but if you are ever able to get under 1,000,000 and you see under 50,000 with quotes you will have found the perfect keyword to go after.

Now you may be wondering how to get to these types of low competition keywords right. Well you will need to start with a longtail search term. A longtail search term is a term that consists of at least 3 or more words. These types of terms like "German Sheppard training" are usually not as competitive as "dog training". The reason is that they are very targeted and less pages are optimized for these types of keywords. Also, the more targeted your visitor is the better chance they you will have at them being in a buying mode.
