You can combine diet with resistance (toning) and aerobic exercise for effective fat loss. In the early stages the weight loss may be minimal because you will be building muscle. Don't be disheartened - your change in body shape will show you that it's working. This can take a little time so having patience will do you the world of good.
Fat burning during exercise only starts once the body has warmed up. This usually takes about 15 minutes. Plan your routine. Start with resistance exercises, followed by aerobic exercise such as running; this way if you are running for 30 minutes you will be burning fat for 30 minutes.
It's important to eat a balanced diet. By depriving your body of fats or another food group, you will cause the body to go into survival mode and store any existing fat, making weight loss more difficult. This is one of the most common mistakes people make. To maximise weight loss, a healthy, balanced diet is required.
You can easily lose a few pounds in about 10 days with a little bit of cardio every day. The key here is to challenge your muscles, but not to overdo it. Just do about 30 minutes of fast paced cardio per day. This can be anything from jumping rope, jogging, sprinting, jumping jacks or squat thrusts. Just keep moving for 30 minutes a day and ensure that you eat enough to fuel this calorie burn.
A lot of people have a horrible addiction to sugar, or worse, artificial sugar (aka high fructose corn syrup). This usually comes from an addiction to something like caffeine. Substitute healthy fresh fruits for high sugar foods. As for drinks, you can substitute colas for water with lemon or lime. You'll still benefit from a nice flavour, without taking on the negative effects that too much sugar offers.
If your body burns off more calories than it is taking in, your body fat will start to drop fast! If you have ever crash dieted, you know this is true. The problem with crash dieting for body fat loss is that you simply cannot live on that diet permanently. Once your motivation wears off, the pounds come back on!
Body fat loss does not have to be a challenge and a struggle. By using the right tools and by keeping the right attitude, you will find that body fat loss and looking great in those new jeans is a real possibility for you! Take things one day at a time, and gradually work towards your end goal.
