Having something that will make cleaning up oil after a spill easier would be a great invention. There is something already available and has proven its effectiveness on the market - Enviro Bond 403™. This agent works on oil spills like nothing else before it. It can bond with liquid hydrocarbons such as diesel, gasoline and oil and form a solid mass that floats in water, but it does not absorb water. Instead of just sponging or soaking up the oil like a boom does, Enviro Bond 403™ actually molecularly bonds with the spill. The encapsulation process is immediate and the oil cleanup is easier as a result. Also, the agent can suppress vapors and off-gassing by 80 percent in the first five minutes of application. The gases and vapors are trapped in the solidified hydrocarbon and will not make their way to the surface. This lessens the chance for any ignition either through spontaneous combustion or accident. Enviro Bond 403™ is hydrophobic and will make hydrocarbon spills float and they will not get water wet. The polymers in the agent bond only with hydrocarbon molecules. Oil spill cleanup can be an easier task when using Enviro Bond 403™. It can also be applied to booms and other tools like the HESCO® Concertainer® units. If an oil slick was to come onto a beach that has the units installed under the sand, it will be transformed before it can saturate the sand. This kind of beach protection will prevent the destruction of wildlife and it will save businesses along the shore from losing out because people do not want to visit a beach seeped in oil or with tar balls.
Another good point about Enviro Bond 403™ is that it is harmless to wildlife and fish as well as humans. Being environmentally-sensitive is especially important when oil cleanup is needed. It will do no good if something can clean up the oil, but kills everything in its path along the way.
Sterling Building Specialists can supply Enviro Bond 403™ to oil spill clean up companies and property owners as well as the HESCO® units.
