Though this board has good performance to the experienced rider, but it is not the best choice for the beginner, for the board is very narrow.
When you are buying the board in the snowboard shop, you can take your feet into measure, then the shop salesperson will give you the best advice. In this way, your feet and legs will be less hurt. But you should make sure that you have plenty of time to find the right shoes.
For the beginners, the best choice is to choose a freebie board, because this kind of board is very flexible, meanwhile this kind of board will last much longer. This one may be much stiff when you want to hold a hard turn. But as a beginner, you can take this one in order to save some money, if you want to much safety, so another best way is to have a helmet.
