One self-made millionaire grew up as he described it "dirt poor". He grew up in a family of six who all lived together in a one bedroom apartment. There was a time when he didn't even afford a winter coat. (He's from New York.) This really sounds desperate and horrible. Now this self-made millionaire has a house in the Hollywood Hills and a second home in Santa Barbara with vineyards from which he will make his own wine. The answer is, thinking.

How do you become wealthy simply by thinking? One's thinking about money will be the determinant as to whether one will have a lot of it or not. When the abovementioned millionaire was growing up his parents rejected people who had money. The reason is they didn't believe that there was anything for them to talk about. The difference in the thinking of the self-made millionaire and his parents is that he knew wealthy people are exactly the people you spend time with to learn how to think "wealthy".

As the self-made millionaire was becoming who he is today the people around him who were not moving ahead like he was were very negative about his efforts. The things they chose to say about his success were as if he were doing something wrong. It is a common feeling for people to not want to be left behind while a family member outgrows them. They are not confident enough to believe that they can move along with you and increase their wealth, so they think it is easier to keep you at your current level with them. When you begin your new business if there are any people like this around you they may let themselves be known. They will be the family and friends that you always looked to for support, but will not give it when you tell them about your network marketing business. You have to be like the millionaire and keep moving forward no matter what you hear from other people.

You cannot look at people who are currently wealthy and feel disdain for them when you are beginning a network marketing business if your plan is to become wealthy yourself. You will need those people to help you learn how to do what they did. This is the reason the millionaire would have liked to have known some wealthier people in his youth so that his family could have developed the mindset they needed to have more than they currently had. You cannot run from those people or else you will never have anyone to tell you what you need to do to be wealthy. Your chances of becoming a success will be extremely low if you have to figure everything out for yourself.

There is also the tendency to think about money negatively. These negative thoughts can carry over into the business world from the personal world and people cannot learn how to get past them to make their businesses work. This is when you begin to procrastinate. You will have things to do for your business that will not be done because you are so afraid of something in your mind. It is very likely that the people around you will treat you with scorn. Sometimes people believe that money is the root of all evil and that they will become evil, but to become wealthy will not turn you into an evil person if you weren't one before. Just remember the self-made millionaire described in this article; his thoughts about money were not those of a typical poor person who never makes it out of poverty which is why he currently has his own winery.
