Human body needs protein to properly function. In fact, Protein is one the most important nutrients in our body that serves as the energy booster and responsible of all body’s activities. Protein is made up of amino acids, the main source of nitrogen that helps our body to develop including muscles. Our body’s three most important nutrients are protein, carbohydrates and fats. Some of our body’s significant duties that need protein are metabolism, cell signaling, immune system, cell adhesion and cell cycle.
Protein helps our body to develop muscles, nails, hair, organs and strengthen immune system. Protein also regulates and balances our body’s PH level, hormone level and fluid. The recommended serving for this goal is to take at least 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight daily and a minimum of 1.5 grams of carbohydrates per pound of bodyweight per day.
