Internet Marketing Keyword Research Exposed…..

Welcome to my 4 part series on Keyword Research. In the first part we will discuss just what is a keyword and several examples of each. In Parts 2 and 3 we will discuss Keyword Tools- both free and paid services. To wrap it all up, Part 4 is the Tips and Summary, where we talk a little SEO and putting this all together. This will help you discover a clearer understanding of just what keywords are and their applications.

Part 1-My Secrets to Choosing The Right Keywords

Exposing Keyword Research is an extremely touchy subject to most all Internet Marketers. Lets face it, everyone who reads your info is considered a competitor. Just how many competitors do you know that are willing to expose their secrets of doing business? Yet, I say "The More The Merrier"!

Just what are Keywords? Keywords or keyword phrases are the actual words or word phrases that searchers type in when they begin searching for their desire of the moment.

The quality of your traffic, websites, articles or videos are all directly related to how diligent you were in your keyword research. You can’t expect to attract buyers if you aren’t in tune with what they’re looking for.

For Example: If you are selling a service or product then you don’t want to attract those that are looking for "FREE" products or services. You’ll just be wasting each others time!

Yet Another Example:

Lets take an Extremely competitive Keyword Phrase, Internet Marketing. At the time I write this, Google tells me that there is 106,000,000 results for that phrase. That’s an extreme amount of competition.

Now, lets look at putting that phrase in quotation marks and searching again. Result-29,500,000. Using the quotation marks on the same phrase and clicking on search again, shows you results of how many people typed in this phrase exactly when they searched, instead of the term Internet Marketing-without quotes which gives you the results of all searches that INCLUDE Internet Marketing.

Don’t- be like some companies out there that try to stuff keywords in their list simply because of their ranking in Google. Again, what good is traffic if it is not relevant traffic. Using non-relevant keywords that bring traffic to your content or site just gets the searcher upset and gives you a reputation for spam.

Remember- Keywords are the tool that directly draws traffic to you. The more specific your keywords or keyword phrases are, the higher the probability that your viewer converts to a lead and then to a sales. Simply because you are providing the content or the opportunity that they are searching for.
