Beaches are vulnerable to nature's fury at a moment's notice. They are also subject to man's fury as well when oil spills occur. When these things happen, protecting the beaches can be a precarious task. But some new, innovative methods have come on the market and are helping to keep our beaches safe and secure. The HESCO® Concertainer® units have been placed under the sand at some beaches and they are helping to prevent erosion. They provide a stable core for the beaches with a pyramid scheme stacked on top of each other. Once they are filled with dirt-like material like sand or crushed rock, they strengthen and will protect the beach in case a major storm comes around. Storms can cause the beaches to erode and take away the protective beach barrier that prevents the waters from destroying property. Also, wildlife is affected because their source of food can be cut off and their natural habitat can be ruined as well. Business owners lose out, too, because no one can come to a beach where the waters have taken over.
When it comes to oil spills, clean up can be easier as long as the HESCO® Concertainer® units are in place. The units can be placed out in the water and before the oil even reaches the sand, they will first come in contact with the HESCO® units. Also, a granular-like agent such as Enviro Armour™ will turn the oil into a solid. By adding the agent to the HESCO® Concertainer® units, an effective defense mechanism will be in place to combat any oil that tries to wash up on shore.
The HESCO® Concertainer® units also are used for other purposes like flood control and accidental explosions. The U.S. military utilizes the units in combat situations and they have been known to protect U.S. solders from enemy attacks. Homeland Security also uses the units in case of terrorists attacks.
Along the Gulf of Mexico, there are many beaches that will need protection in the future. The HESCO® Concertainer® units can provide beach protection and preserve the wildlife as well. Integrated Protection Systems offers the HESCO® Concertainer® units to property owners who need something to protect their beaches. The beaches along the Gulf experience hurricanes and sometimes man made disasters. The units provide protection that will result in minimal or no damage.
