After the first Nintendo DS there have been many upgrades that now make the DS's chunky screens seem that it was created years ago.
The DS Lite was shortly followed by the DSi shortly round the corner was the new DSi XL but not surprisingly the new 3DS is expected to be released around March next year.
The Price has not yet been made official but to follow the previous trends of other DS consoles it wouldn't be surprising if the 3DS reached the $300 mark.
The 3DS features an analogue stick above the D-Pad a really helpful tool to move around 3D worlds. It also has a total of 3 cameras only able to take images. There is one on the front and two on the back to create 3D images!
Not only has the start and select button been moved underneath the screen there is also a home button like on the wii system. The power button also sits to the right of these buttons.
Not only can you play 3D videos and games but also 2D as well thanks to a handy slider next to the top screen.
The main problem with the previous DS's are that the screen resolution is terrible compared to the other consoles on the market, however the few who have been able to experience the 3D effect say that the two images give the effect that the resolution is double that previous consoles.
The fantastic bonus of the 3DS is there is no need for those annoying 3D glasses. The effect is created by each pixel aiming at different sides of your head as you play. Unfortunately this means you have to be in a reasonably precise position to see the 3D effect in good quality.
Don't worry there are still a large variety of games being created for the 3D effect including from the companies EA, Gameloft, Hudson Soft, Sony, Ubisoft, THQ, Capcom and Konami.
The provider of this 3D technology is likely to be Sharp as this is the company that supplied Nintendo with previous LCD screens but also have their own range of 3D TV's.
