There was a Swine Flu conference in March, 2010, in London, England. Over a dozen of the world’s health experts from Britain and the United States were speaking on topics including prevention, preparedness, response and recovery strategies designed to end the human to human transmission of the H1N1 virus. This comes after the World Health Organization’s announcement that more than 213 countries have reported cases of H1N1 influenza in 2009. They say there have been at least 16,000 related deaths as of February, 2010. Why has there been no such conference for Low Frequency Radiation?

There remain many unanswered questions regarding the long-term health risks arising from the use of Cellular telephones. The World Health Organization states "the possibilities that cause the most concern are cancers of the brain or other parts of the head, and neurodegenerative disease, memory loss or loss of mental faculties, all resulting later in life from exposures accumulated earlier in life. If there are such effects, the global burden of disease could be enormous, with a significant fraction of the world population potentially affected".

Doctor George Carlo is an American doctor who lead a 7 year study back in 1993 on the effects of cell phone radiation. This project was funded by industry. What they wanted was proof that cell phones were not dangerous. What he actually found was evidence to the contrary, and they did not like his findings. He was challenged by them, his methods questioned and his results were marginalized. He has now become one of the world’s most prominent skeptics, and he, along with a growing number of other researchers, has been urging caution and issuing warnings to the public for many years now regarding the dangers of cell phone use.

Dr. Carlo estimates that in the USA, there are 200 million cell phone users. Worldwide, this number is approximately 1.9 billion users, and growing. The studies conducted were done on adults using a mobile phone for 500-1000 minutes per month. This group is considered to be "light users". In contrast, teenagers and young people nowadays are using their phones in excess of 2600 minutes per month. They will have been using portable devices continuously for at least a 10 year period. The long-term health consequences of this type of exposure are not yet known. Dr. Carlo reports that the epidemiological studies back then suggested that 30,000-50,000 cases of brain and eye cancer can be attributed to cell phone use. He says that the projection is over 500,000 cases by the year 2010.

Here’s what you can do to reduce the risks of Cell phone use:

1.Limit the level of exposure of children and teenagers to cell phones. Tell your kids not to talk for extended periods of time. Try to limit their use to essential calls only, and keep calls short. Tell them not to carry their mobile phone on them if they don’t have to. This applies to cordless phones also. (For example, put it down on a table or desk whenever possible). If they must use a cell phone, then get some protection for it, in the form of a chip. These chips will eliminate the low frequency radiation, and make the phone safer to use.

2.Some people believe that wearing a "hands-free" or "Bluetooth" headset will protect them from radiation. Even when Bluetooth devices are used to keep the cell phone away from the ear, the radiation is magnified because the headset serves as an antenna to receive all electromagnetic waves in the vicinity of the user. A better solution is to get a "Bluetooth" device that mounts to the windshield or dashboard of your vehicle. Keep the cell phone and "Bluetooth" device away from your body. Radiation eliminator chips are still recommended.

3.Use the "hands-free" option if your phone has one.

4.Do not make calls if the signal strength is at 1 bar or lower. In this case, the phone raises the power level to try and establish a connection.

5.Buy a pendant which will protect you from all forms of Electromagnetic Radiation. This includes cell phones, cordless phones, computers, wireless devices, cell phone towers, wi-fi networks, and hydro towers.
