What is psoriasis and how is it treated?

Psoriasis is a very common skin condition that results in thickened skin with redness and irritation. Overlapping layers of flaky patches called scales that are white or silver in color also identifies the condition. Psoriasis patches can be flat, raised, or anything in between.
