Choosing trade show exhibit flooring can be as difficult as picking new floors in your own home. Both require a very specific look and feel. Both are an important, yet often understated, component of the overall presentation. Trade show display flooring has another requirement: it must be durable enough to withstand hundreds or thousands of people walking across it in a day. Luckily, these highly durable options won't show wear and tear in even the most difficult conditions.

Durable Carpet Trade Show Exhibit Flooring

As a convention accessory, carpet is usually sold rather than rented. Most companies will provide an assortment of carpets in varying durability. Berber carpets tend to be the least durable because they are the most plush. Although they are made from a coarse wool-like yarn, they are still prone to being torn and pulled in ways that other carpet will not. However, Berber also offers a unique look that no other trade show display flooring can match, not even synthetic options.

If it's durability you seek, then synthetic material is an excellent choice. The fibers tend to be tightly woven, preventing them from becoming worn down or pulled out by excessive use. Carpet is also generally preferred because it offers such a wide variety of colors. Spanning the literal rainbow, it is easy to maintain and reuse, and it stores efficiently. The sole drawback to carpet is the difficulty of cleaning it should something be spilled on it. However, carpet cleaning is not too expensive and remains a viable option for many.

Rubber Flooring And Rubber Tiles

Rubber mats themselves are an excellent option for durability, but are unpleasant to look at. Tiled rubber is more visually dynamic and enjoyable underfoot. In addition, many rubber tiles are actually recycled and help the environment. However, unless it is densely packed, rubber trade show exhibit flooring will show wear and tear after particularly heavy use. The rubber can become discolored, making it unpleasant to look at.

Rubber, like carpet, comes in a fairly wide variety of colors. It is easier to care for than carpet because it is almost completely nonporous: spill something on it and you'll be able to wipe it right up. However, rubber is more porous comparatively than completely sealed materials. It is likely that if anything other than water were spilled, it would need a light cleaning to remove the last traces of the substance.

Rollable Trade Show Display Flooring

Made with fiberglass and polyurethane, it's tough to beat floors like this for durability and easy cleaning. This variety also feels good underfoot and can be washed easily. Many business owners enjoy placing further pads underneath them for added comfort during long hours at the convention. This trade show exhibit flooring option can maintain its appearance for years. It is among the least water-penetrable options, making it the easiest to clean. It will hold up under steady use, but its image might fade slightly. However, it is safe to use indoors or out. If seeking the ideal durable solution, rollable fiberglass-polyurethane blended mats are presently the best option.
