When you think of school fundraiser ideas for your next campaign, one of the best things that you can do to come up with a really unique fundraising idea is by taking a look at your surroundings. If you go out and spend some time in your garden, may be you can spot some snails there. Did you know that you can use these things to raise money fast? Yes, you can.
The use of snails is one of the freshest school fundraiser ideas today. If you want to raise money through the use of these critters, the first thing you need to do is to collect your snails. They are easy to get at night time because they are known to be nocturnal creatures. On the other hand, you can also make use of snail homes. These creatures usually love upturned bowls and flower pots. Scatter these in your garden and you will surely have a good supply of money makers in the morning. For your fundraiser, you’re going to need at least 10 snails but having a reserve will also be a good idea.
Once you get your supply of snails, you need to buy some paint as you will use this to place numbers on their shells. If you want to save money, you can make use of office correction fluid. On the other hand, you can also use stickers on the shells. What you’re going to do in here is a have a snail race. With this, you’re also going to need a racing arena, which you can make from pieces white cardboard covered with plastic. Before you cover your racing arena, mark 2 rings on it. The inner ring should measure 20 cm in diameter. This shall serve as the starting line for the snails. The outer ring on the other hand should measure 40 cm to 50 cm from the center of the cardboard. This shall serve as your finish line. Before you start your races, you need to place leaves and grass on the outer ring of your racing arena as these will serve as a form of encouragement for your racers to make really quick dash. If you have a nice artistic side, you can try painting your racing arena with cartoons, checkered flags, and other colorful pictures.
Next, be sure that you name each of your racers so that you can easily identify them. In addition, giving them names will add a larger degree of fun to the race and this will encourage people to bet money on them. You can give your racers different sets of names, which you can use during all throughout their racing day. You can earn money through races by asking people to make bets on your racers. Half of the total amount of what is bet will go to you while the other half will go to those who have placed their bets on the one who won the race.
To make this type of fundraiser idea really lucrative, you need to organize and advertise this really well. Go to the AIM Fundraising website and learn the different ways as to how you can promote school fundraiser ideas effectively.
