Keep in mind that we are in an economic crisis and money is really hard to find, which is why you need to make sure that when you ask for sales from people you’re going to have something worthwhile in your hands.
People take part in different fundraising campaigns because of unique needs. If you are planning on carrying out one in a few weeks, you must take the time to meet your members and determine what exactly it is that you need to raise money for. Having a clear idea of the reason why you need to raise money will help you set your fundraising goals right specifically those that are related to finances. For instance, if you are planning to raise money so that you can have a new playground for your kids’ elementary school, then you can base your fundraising goals on the amount of cash that different playground equipments cost. Setting the goals of a fundraising campaign is the first and the most important step that you need to contemplate on carefully because what you come up with during this step will dictate the different things that you need to decide later on.
Aside from coming up with a good and profitable idea, you also need to spend a good amount time on making plans as to how you’re going to go about your campaign. An important part of your planning phase would be working on advertisements for your campaign. A fundraising program can be likened to a business venture as to the reason that it needs to be properly advertised so that information about it can reach people and boil up interest from them. This in turn will cause a campaign to have a good set of prospective clients from which sales can be generated. Advertising can be done in several ways such as through flyers, banners, press releases, posts on your group or school’s website, and through the good old word of mouth.
So if you and your team of volunteers are planning on putting up a fundraising campaign in a month, squeeze out your creative juices well so that you can have something that will really create a huge buzz in your community. People will spend money on something if it’s of great interest to them. Catch their attention and you’re halfway to convincing to buy what you have to offer.
