Among the mental disorders, depression is one of the hardest to deal with especially when it was caused by death in your family. The thought of going on with life without the person we truly care and love is unnerving. The memories will always flashback especially during late at night when we hear nothing but total silence. So how can I continue living life? This is a common question we all ask ourselves when we try to fight depression. At present, it may be impossible to forget the whole bunch of memories but as time passes by, with the help of those who care for us, we can slowly gain our energy back.
It is apparently normal to be depressed. However, there are several ways that may be helpful to accept the reality so that we can move on with life. More so, by allowing people to help us with our situation, we can fight the undesirable effects of depression, such as weight gain or loss, insomnia, sadness and loss of energy. By opening ourselves to possible treatment, we can gain the self we lost when depression strikes us.
To start with, let us not hold back the tears. By allowing ourselves to cry, we can genuinely express our deepest sense of despair. On the other hand, coercing ourselves to stop the madness in a snap is not a good idea at all. The more we exert effort, the vivid the chance we realize that we can hardly fight the battle. Let us just go with the flow by giving our friends the avenue to feed us with encouraging words so we can be relieved. Though the pain may still be there, but with a little enlightenment, we can surely stand and walk again.
If we experience loss of appetite, taking vitamins is of great help. However, vitamins available in the market are only supplements and they should be accompanied with proper diet. If its hard to fight the physical symptoms of depression like insomnia and loss of appetite, we can call our doctor for medical assistance.
It's not a sin to take a quick break from school or work. Let us allow ourselves to go for a vacation so we will have ample time to enjoy ourselves if pain is hard to manage. Bring your friends with you so you can savor the time in order for you to find greater release.
Although depression can be difficult especially when we are still close to the general picture, but with proper management, we can ease the burden we feel inside. By embracing the changes around, we can slowly realize that life is still worth to live. Though bringing back the self we lost can take a long time, but step by step, we can gain it back when we fully understand the essence of moving forward.
