If you think that chemists only focus their time in making medicines and other vaccine invention, you are definitely wrong. If you also believe that they are not concerned with their physical embodiment and appearance, you are also not correct. It is because chemists nowadays not only make it sure that they buy lab coat which is as clean as a plain paper, but also they research of the things that can accumulate diseases onto them considering the nature of their job.
Are you familiar with the methyl iodide? It is a chemical which is considered to be carcinogenic. It is something which can trigger formation of cancer cells in a certain part of the body. That is why chemists buy lab coat which can help them resist, if not totally eliminate their body from methyl iodide.
But you know, methyl iodide is still being used by Tokyo corporations as soil fumigant most particularly in the process of strawberries. The reason behind it is that it is not created to produce disease-risk to people but to help the soil on how to become healthy. Health of soil is measured by becoming fit enough for fruit bearing plants.
They (chemists) also use masks as well as gloves in order to resist the attempt of cancer invasion to all the chemists within the laboratory they are working in. So, you can notice them that from time to time, they buy lab coat with all the accessories that they need in order for them not to inhale chemicals which may be detrimental to their health.
I remembered one time, I read that the role of the chemists is to create vaccines which may be tested through animals. Testing it would cause danger as well to the animals. As the person in lab coat begins his testing to the said animals, those monkeys and chimpanzees start to weep as well. They are so pitiful but that is the job of laboratory employees. It is a ministerial duty for them to create medicines which can be beneficial to people with AIDS as well as cancer for that matter. If they are not going to test it in animals that may directly pose danger to the ones having a life span shorter than an ordinary individual.
In this connection, we must also understand the side of these chemists. As a matter of fact, even these chemists are being risked by the cancer infestation through what we call as the methyl iodide. So, we must all understand first before anything else.
