There are several causes of baldness or alopecia. Causes are commonly attributed to hereditary factors, aging, and diseases affecting the entire body, scalp disorders, ionizing radiation, and reaction to drugs. A great percentage of men and women in the United States are experiencing problems with hair loss and baldness which is why hair replacement treatments have become indispensible for many communities.
It is also important to understand the workings of our body and our hair system prior to getting hair replacement and so, here are a few facts one should know.
In hereditary baldness, the hair follicles and oil glands in the scalp deteriorate and the hair gradually becomes thinner until only a few strands of fine, downy hair remain. The most common form of inherited baldness is male pattern baldness, which spreads evenly, usually beginning with a partial loss of hair on the upper temples and on the crown of the head. This condition appears most frequently in men over 30 years old, although in some cases it may occur prematurely, even as early as the mid-teens. This form of heredity baldness may be due in part to the hormonal changes that accompany the aging process.
Women become bald less often than men, but they carry the genes that determine pattern baldness and pass them on to their children. When inherited female pattern baldness does occur, it normally affects menopausal women-that is, women around the ages of 45 to 50 years old, suggesting a link to hormonal changes.
The normal cycle of growth in our hair system lasts for 2 to 3 years. Each hair grows approximately 1 centimeter per month during this phase. About 90 percent of the hair on your scalp is growing at any one time. About 10 percent of the hair on your scalp, at any one time, is in a resting phase. After 3 to 4 months, the resting hair falls out and new hair starts to grow in its place. Anything excessive to this baseline is a problem.
Baldness caused by diseases such as cancer or diabetes is already a known fact. Today, foundations for these diseases have added programs to supply their beneficiaries with hair pieces and other hair replacement solutions in order to boost morale and help with the coping and healing process.
The deal with hair replacement or getting anything to substitute our lack of hair (i.e. hair pieces and hair extensions) is that it can get a little embarrassing. But one has to remember that living with baldness doesn't have to be your problem anymore, especially with today's innovations.
Hair replacement ranges from surgical to non-surgical treatments; or temporary to permanent solutions. Non-surgical hair replacement includes hair systems or hair pieces like wigs, toupees, and hair extensions. The key to using hair systems is a special knotting technique that fastens the hair to the base and also allows the knots to disappear on the base giving the illusion of hair growing out of the head.
Designing and producing a nonsurgical hair system - a hair replacement solution - takes skill and artistry. It has to be perfect in order to blend in with a client's existing hair. The aim is to make it look as natural as possible. Advantage Hair Club has the necessary skills and equipment to help clients deal and beat baldness. Their hair systems and hair replacement methods cater to men, women, and children of all ages.
Surgical hair replacement can get expensive and there are a lot more complications and risks. This is why going the non-surgical path is the best option for anyone with minor and even major baldness.
