If you're getting into vending hoping it's going to be easy money, then you are going to be quickly disappointed. Far too many people get into vending thinking it's going to be easier than it is that somehow vending is different from other small businesses. While vending is a fabulous home based business, it's really no easier than starting up any other small business such as a sandwich shop or a boutique, your long term success will largely be determined by your own efforts and for the most part, it won't come easy.

You can't believe half of the stuff you read online about vending, most of the people and businesses you see promoting vending online have a vested interest in promoting the myth of vending as a convenient, easy and profitable business. False or grossly inflated claims about the profitability of vending are a staple of vending biz ops; this is how they manage to suck so many people into their evil web of lies. For some reason, people want to believe the myth of easy money. It's a time honored tradition that you can't go wrong appealing to people’s greed or, in some cases, desperation or ignorance. Vending really is a great business, it's just not an easy business or some sort of get rich quick scheme.

An easy way to identify a biz op is by earning claims they make. Are they constantly telling you how much money you can make in vending? Do they use terms like "cash cow", "machines are silent employees" or "make money around the clock? Does it sound too good to be true? If any of these rings true, then you should walk away. Another way to avoid getting ripped off is to figure out the retail value of the equipment they are trying to sell you and compare it to their "packaged" deal. You can quickly see that they are charging 3 to 4 times what you would pay if you did things on your own.

So, save yourself thousands of dollars by avoiding these biz ops at all costs. But don’t give up your dream of someday having your route, it really is possible. As long as you get into vending with realistic goals and expectations, vending really can be a great and profitable business, but it’s certainly not easy.
