Those who want to learn how to astral travel or project can find it's not that hard, but will take practice before it gets easy.
First, this simple concept from Huna: Life is a Dream. This means that all dreams are equally real as this waking one you spend most time and energy in.
Below that concept is another one, that says we dream all the time. Day-dreaming is one of these always-on abilities we mostly ignore or shut out. But it’s always present, and is akin to inspiration and intuition – the more you use it, the better you get at it.
But there is an even heavier part to this. In Huna there is a principle which says, "There are no limits." In this, they mean simply that we are all connected, every waking or sleeping moment of every day. As well, there is no real difference between you and I, even if we are (in this dream world) "thousands of kilometers" away from the other.
Obviously, it's convenient in our modern day and age to simply keep faith with our lessons that say there is distance and space. We consider our selves individuals - and if we were all One, then it might not be as entertaining in this current world we live in. Life could get boring.
Where you explore this idea, you may find that a little practice will bring you to the point that you can find out what is happening in any particular "place" on this planet - just by tuning into what is going on "over there" with only your mind.
Getting to that point can well require that you increase the personal peace that is native to your existence. And that is simply found by releasing various emotions, feelings, and desires you have been holding onto which are related to being an individual. Also, any fear of death or dying, or no longer being an individual may need to be released.
Because once you get to the point of being able to share the apparent worlds of others just as the one you create around you, then any limit to traveling or projecting into those spaces simply vanishes.
Now an easy practice drill is to do this with something or someone you love or share great affinity with. A picture you like, or a plant, or even a pet – by sitting still and relaxing the body, releasing all stresses within you and no longer caring even about what thoughts come into your mind, you can then "imagine" the view from that picture or plant or pet.
The key point here is to relax completely (just not so much that you could fall asleep or right out of your chair) and then simply get any perception of what you sense is occurring from that viewpoint. Of course, regular daily practice - even for minutes each day - will help you get good at this, getting stronger and more clear impressions of what looking out from that viewpoint entails.
Now taking any other actions you may need in order to improve you empathy will also strengthen this talent and ability. Yes, you want to be able to share space with the animal, plant, or object without feeling that you need to change anything over there. You simply want to see the rightness or perfection of that viewpoint just as it is. This makes it simpler to achieve the astral projection or travel.
There is a possibility that your life will change markedly for the better. And that you have now an incredible, lasting peace and understanding of the universe you live in.
How's that for a great by-product?
Known for extensive writing in self-help and personal development, Dr. Robert C. Worstell (http://robertworstell.com) has just published a New Age fiction book, "The Dreamer Dreamed" which explores the concept of how to lucid dream and project (http://midwestjournalpress.com/dreamer/how_to_lucid_dream.html), among other ideas. This book employs the understanding of various spiritual training books and research he's conducted over the last 35 years.
