When you first start out in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu you would excited to learn the new martial art and be fearful of how hurt you may get while training. You also would not know what type of Jiu Jitsu Gear you may need to train in this sport. Well, what most people would recommend even though there has been some controversy because of Eddie Bravos No Gi movement is to strictly train in a Bjj Gi at least at first. With the Bjj Gi you could enhance your game in many ways and develop many techniques you would not be able to do training in no Gi. So the Bjj Gi is the most essential Jiu Jitsu Gear you would need to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Now the Jiu Jitsu Gi is not the only Jiu Jitsu Gear you will need to train even though it is the most important. Of course, you would also need your Bjj belts and since this would be your first time training you would need to purchase a Bjj white belt. Keep in mind, that in Jiu Jitsu, the Submission Bjj Gi and Bjj Belts are the best. Depending on where you purchase your Bjj Gi and Bjj belts from and what brand your Bjj Kimonos could cost you anywhere from $70 - $250. To be honest, they are all pretty much the same with minor differences. So paying over $200 for a Bjj Gi is just ludicrous. In fact, even paying over $150 would be insane for a simple Jiu Jitsu Gi. The best price for your most essential Jiu Jitsu gear would have to be any where from $75 - $125. As far as your Bjj belts prices range from $10 - $20, which all of the Bjj belts are really the same, unless they are made of different material so just go for the $10 Bjj belts. You don’t need to make this new hobby of yours cost you a fortune. So now that we got the Bjj Gi and the Bjj belts part of this down let’s move on to rash gaurds.
The next most important piece of Jiu Jitsu Gear you must have would be a rash guard. They are beneficial to help evaporate sweat so that your sweat doesn’t stay on your body 2 long. And they also help keep diseases off of you that your opponents may have. I mean they sweat on you they seldom even bleed on you and you don’t want that on your skin, so you would want protection to use a rash guard. Sublimated rash guards are the best. So be sure you wear a rash guard under your Bjj Gi during your next training session to help protect yourself from ring worm, staff and other diseases. When it comes to your Bjj Gi pants I would always recommend get the pants with a rope style draw string because it will help your pants from falling off. Very important and often overlooked Jiu Jitsu gear you would need.
