Landing pages are a highly effective way of directing the traffic you receive from online advertising to the most relevant parts of your website. Landing pages can either form part of your existing website or they can be created with their own domain name.
Essentially, they are designed to ensure that people searching for a particular product are directed to exactly what they are looking for, and not just your homepage. Most people will not have the patience to click through multiple pages to find what they are looking for; they would rather just go to another site.
This is where a landing page could transform your business. It will help you to achieve a much higher conversion rate, and therefore increase your sales. One of the aims of a landing page is to get potential customers to enter details such as an email address or a telephone number, in return for more information about your products or services.
Because of the potential marketing power of your landing page it is very important that you get the content just right. Therefore the things you ask in your questionnaire should be highly relevant and encourage people to enter their details. Not only this, but the questions you ask should also supply you with a message about what the client is looking for, or the nature of their problem.
More relevance between the queries received by search engines and the content of your landing page = an increase in the number of hits for your website.
Some points to consider when creating your landing page:
· The advertising slogan should be short and catchy, placed at the top of the page.
· A clear message outlining the issue, followed by a simple solution
· It is very important that you use key words in the description of what the issue is.
· With regards to the solution; it should provide the response in a basic form, without overly technical or detailed language. For example ‘telescopic ladder’ should just be replaced with ‘ladder’.
It is even possible to insert more than one landing page into your site, ensuring that prospective clients find what they are looking for straight away. If you do not yet have a landing page then now is the time to act, you will be amazed by the results!
